Spam on blogs?

So I was just looking at my blog and noticed that I had a few
comments. Well it turns out that these comments amount to something
like this: "Hey, your blog is great. check out my site"

Why is there spam on my blog??

All of this is from people that I don't know.

GRRR!! as if spam in email wasn't enough
